Can my kite be repaired? What is this part called?

More often than not, it is more cost-effective to repair your kite than to run out and buy a new one. Parts are generally pretty inexpensive. It's not until you get into the expensive kites that the parts cost an arm and a leg. (wrapped graphite and tapered wrapped graphite can cost from $12-$30 a rod).
